Fumi's Kitchen has started because of a son's love for his Mother and to keep her memory alive and honor her. Fumi Teshima had a son, Ronald, who grew up helping the family manage the famous Teshima's restaurant in Kainaliu, Hawaii. Both mother and son helped in the restaurant daily, however Fumi passed away, after a courageous battle against cancer.
Essentially after many years of learning, cooking and managing Teshima's restaurant. Chef Ronnie Ow has decided to start out on his own and honor his mother by naming his new restaurant after her, thus Fumi's Kitchen was started.
Fumi's Kitchen is where one can come to have Korean-Japanese cuisine served very much in the traditional artful Japanese way but with little modern twists of local flair. So it is where the Korean- Japanese past meets the present and that is reflected in Chef Ronnie's culinary creations. Come and try the famous fried rice omelette and shrimp tempura and much more.
